I have jailbroken my iPhone 3G 2.2 following these easy steps:

- Download one of the following files, the most suitable for your taste and OS
QuickPWN 2.2 Jailbreak Download Mirror 1
QuickPWN 2.2 Jailbreak Download Mirror 2
Download QuickPWN for Mac

- UnZip it or mount the .dmg (if runnin OSX) and execute QuickPwn22-1.exe or .app

- It helps putting iPhone into DFU mode

- It does not create any ipsw firmware for iTunes, it jailbreaks the iPhone directly

- In a few minutes my iPhone has restarted with 2 new icons: Cydia and Installer and was Jailbroken with success!

So you can start to play around with Cydia, Installer and I suggest you to install Installous.

These 3 packages work like the Debian APT-GET, If you are familiar with Linux Debian APT then you will be amazed since all apps are downloaded and installed through a sort of Darwin APT-GET.

You can select or search a package, download it and install it with all the dependencies solved automatically.

You can install a lot of applications, for example I have installed SSHd on iPhone… and with PuTTY I have been able to connect to the iPhone

Then with Veency you can use the iPhone from your machine etc

and many many others..
